Character Name: Mew
Character Series: Pokemon
Age: Um. I dunno. A lot. Really old.
Background: Not much is known about Mew. It is theMary Sue of Pokemon first Legendary Pokemon, after all. Some people believe that there's just one, and some think there may be more than one; certainly no more than one has appeared at any one time so far, at the very least. Some also believe that Mew (whether the one or the species) is the common ancestor from which all Pokemon evolved, due to its abilities to learn any move and to shapeshift into any Pokemon. (Its other abilities include throwing/using this pink ball of light, and teleporting.)
Anyway, little else is known about Mew. It was first sighted in the jungles of South America, though I don't believe they found it there again. It also appears sometimes in Faraway Island, which is a fictional island in the Pokemon world. A hair from Mew was also found in a cave once (I believe also in South America?) and scientists attempted to clone Mew from the DNA there, but ended up creating Mewtwo instead. Mewtwo is actually created to be more powerful than Mew, but Mew did defeat it in battle in the first movie.
Mew appeared again later in the latest(?) Pokemon movie, the one with Lucario. This Mew, if different from the first, is symbiotic with the Tree of Beginnings, which was a magical tree-shaped rock that... um... I've no idea what it did, actually. The movie was confuzzling and I was playing FFXI through it. Shhh. >.>; I don't think it actually does anything at all. It's a plot device. ._.;;
Also, unlike Mewtwo, Mew can't talk. It just... umm... mews. (Or makes the sounds of whatever it turns into.)
Personality: Again, not much is known about Mew. It's... very... playful. It likes changing into different Pokemon and playing tricks on other Pokemon. It is, however, compassionate.
